How amazing it is ?

Such adorable and healthy baby boy (named Vincent)was born prematurely by a Swedish woman in September weighing (1.8kg).


A 36 years old woman ,who was naturally born without uterus had received a donated womb from a 60 years old women .


This woman who was born without a uterus is mainly due to cancer treatment or birth defects which lead to her functionless womb . Before this miracle happened , they thought their only hope is surrogacy , but advanced technology had proved them wrong .









This woman who born without a functioning uterus but still had a functioning ovaries went through IVF to produce 11 embryos, which were frozen. Doctors at the University of Gothenburg then performed the womb transplant.

In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process that a egg is fertilised outside the body with a sperm .




The donor was a 61 years old woman who is also a friend of this Swedish woman.

Their doctor was using drugs to suppress the immune system to prevent the rejecting of womb .

The year after the transplant , the doctor diagnose that the this
Swedish woman were ready to implant one of the frozen embryos
and a pregnancy ensued !

Prof Mats Brannstorm , who led the transplat team claim that the
birth in Sweden as a joyuous moment .








Liza Johannesson, a gynaecological surgeon in the team, said: "It
gives hope to those women and men that thought they would never
have a child, that thought they were out of hope."
